This blog is mostly about me and my own thoughts, experiences, and evolution, but my hope is that it speaks to a broader community as well. I therefore welcome friendly comments, on any of my posts, as well as civil debates on issues around gender, identification, and community. I am particularly interested in the responses of people under the transgender umbrella: what are similarities and differences in our experiences; what advice, encouragement, and constructive critique do my posts inspire?
I recognize that, in many cases, we can learn and grow from our disagreements, and you should feel free to express disagreement and critique in your comments. However, transphobia — defined as the belief that it is better, more healthy, and more natural to remain in one’s assigned gender and one’s assigned sex than to in any way cross, change, or identify outside of these assignments — will not be tolerated, nor will comments made in a willfully antagonistic, rather than a thoughtful and respectful spirit.
